Are There Screen Protectors for Drawing Tablets

   I haven't owned a touchscreen laptop or a screen drawing tablet, and I want to know if you recommend a screen protector for a pen/touch screen. Are these screens sturdy enough on their own? scratch resistant to the pen? Device in question is the Acer 7 Ezel pro but i'm sure general experience from any touchscreen or pen device will be applicable.

   , in my experience definitely add a screen protector for tablet-like device purely for fall/shock protection (Surface Pro / Book etc). While for devices like the Acer 7 Ezel pro and devices with a 360 degree hinge it is not really needed imo. EMR & Ntrig pens do not have hard tips (in my experience at least) that can damage to screen.
   Adding a matt screen protector might still appeal to you if you want a more rough surface to draw on.

   Personally I have a Surface Pro 1 with a glass screen protector on it and I can still use the EMR pen (LAMY) perfectly fine (as in being able to draw smooth lines). I suspect with Ntrig it is the same.

   I am not concerned about fall/shock protection. Pretty careful with my devices. Since this is an EMR device with the softer nibs like you said, i guess i'll go with no screen protector.
   I picked up a couple tips from reading wacom cintiq forum posts: dont get grains/dust under your hand or nib while drawing, that can cause a scratch. And change the nibs often because they can become chisled into a sharper edge.

   Also I will pick up an artist glove to help with dirtying the screen but i dont think it'll affect scratching.

4. The Ezel with EMR are interchangeable with Lamy and other brands. There's a bone of contention whether the grey nibs on the HP zbook stylus are actually felt nibs but they are definitely softer and more "toothed" than the hard plastic nibs and they will work on the Ezel Concept D7 screen.
   Downside I've read is that felt nibs can pick up grease and oils, this along with dust and grit will create the tools to scratch your screen with if not changed regularly.

   Thanks Doobie, is this a +1 for no screen protector though? And yes, I definitely noticed a difference between the included Ezel stylus nib tactile/hardness and the Staedtler pencil. The Staedtler felt much noticeably softer. Thanks for the great tips

6. In the zbook's case, the screen is (pre) chemically etched so for me a screen protector would not make sense. You'd need to check with the Ezel - any kind of treatment / protective coat does something to the colour accuracy. That's what you have to consider: how important is the colour accuracy?
   It's one reason Apple don't do anything with the glass on an iPad Pro - more consumers want colour accuracy than a drawing screen I guess.
